Project: Fireplace Mantle and Cabinetry
Features: Red Oak cabinetry, arched library units and extensive storage space.
ShopNotes: One of the main goals in any design project is to create a sense of belonging -- making the new blend into and compliment its surroundings. To that end, this Oak fireplace cabinetry and mantle pulled key elements from the existing cabinetry and furniture in the kitchen and dining room for both its color and style. The homeowners patterned their custom built home after the country farmhouses of the area; a style that blends with the clean lines of the cabinetry. The base cabinets in this project were designed for storage and to that end, one of the units contains two full extension drawers that house the owners' extensive cd collection with space for over 450 titles.
