Project: Lapstrake Canoe

Features: Custom mahogany seats and thwart, scuppered gunwales and a walnut inlay on the fore deck. The hull is fiberglassed for abrasion resistance and the inside is coated in a high gloss spar varnish. Brass hardware adds a finished touch to the painter loops on the decks and the bulkhead seals.

ShopNotes: Nobody wants an ugly boat, and the lapstrake hull is not only one of the oldest styles, but also one of the most striking. This mahogany boat is 16' in length and weighs just over 75 lbs.
